Nationality of Children of Foreign Parent
According to the Immigration Control Act revision, a child can have Korean nationality automatically if one of his parents has Korean citizenship. Especially after 1998, regardless of whether the applicant has a nationality of a foreigner or a mother country. So if one of your parents does not have Korean nationality and the other is a Korean national, the child can get Korean nationality and receive education and health insurance benefits. However, if you have a Korean nationality and a foreign nationality before the age of twenty, you must choose one nationality within two years from the time you become twenty - (For male, see Article 8 of the Military Service Act)
